Fleet Tips

Clean Truck Check for fleets

Once you're managing more than a handful of trucks, ad-hoc scheduling stops working. Here's a practical playbook.

1. Build a master calendar

Pull every VIN’s next CTC due date out of your CARB account into a single tracker. Sort by deadline. Anything within 60 days becomes a priority.

2. Pre-screen with your own scan tool

Reading DTCs and monitor readiness on your own equipment a week before the test prevents wasted appointments. Address active codes and run drive cycles in-house.

3. Use mobile Certified Testers strategically

For yards with 10+ trucks due in the same window, a mobile Certified Tester is usually faster and cheaper than rotating drivers through a shop. Filter the directory for mobile Certified Testers in your area.

4. Centralize records

Keep PDFs of every submission and result by VIN. CARB and your insurance both benefit from a clean audit trail.

5. Stagger going forward

If your whole fleet shares a deadline now, slightly stagger renewals so future cycles are spread across the calendar.

Not a substitute for CARB guidance. CTC Connect publishes plain-English explanations of publicly available compliance information. Always verify rules with the official CARB Clean Truck Check program. Need a Certified Tester? Search the directory.
